Potomac Elementary Music Mission:
To provide a musical education which will develop the intellectual, social, cultural, emotional, and artistic well-being of all students.
*Students will be educated about the existence, performance, creation, composition, history, function, and value of music in our time.
*Students will master beat competency and pitch accuracy--two basic skills which can yield a lifetime of musical benefits.
*Music will be integrated with other, cross-curricular components: language arts, social studies, science, spatial relationships, physical education, art education, historical education, and mathematics.
*This approach to music education develops the whole brain and the whole child.
